We source our grapes from different terroirs across the Uco Valley

Mainly from Altamira and La Consulta (San Carlos), Chacayes (Tunuyán) and Gualtallary (Tupungato).

The alluvial and rocky soils, along with the dry weather and powerful, abundant sunlight of the valley, provide our wines with all they need to achieve optimal maturity. In addition, minimal wind and broad temperature range enable our grapes to attain a remarkable balance of freshness, intensity and elegance.

Our close, long-standing relationship with local producers and meticulous monitoring of each plot have ensured consistent quality and product traceability year after year.

Terroir

SAN CARLOS

This is the place where the oldest Malbec vineyards in the Uco Valley stand, more particularly, in the area of La Consulta, boasting over a century of winegrowing tradition, with vineyards standing at altitudes of 900 m a.s.l. (2,900 f a.s.l.) on sandy loam soils. Another area renowned for its exceptional quality is Paraje Altamira, with vineyards standing over 1,200 m a.s.l. (3,900 f a.s.l.) on sandy loam rocky soils with variable amounts of calcium carbonate. The red wines we source from these areas stand out for their sweet tannins, pronounced minerality and aromas of red fruits, herbs and spices.

Terroir

TUNUYÁN

Located in the central part of the Uco Valley, this area is cradled by streams and features a rich diversity of soils and microclimates. The grapes we source from this area grow in Chacayes, reaching elevations as high as 1,200 m a.s.l. (3,900 f a.s.l.), on thickly rocky soils covered with deposits of calcium carbonate. The climate is cool and dry, which allows us to obtain wines with enhanced acidity and freshness, marked floral aromas and hints of herbs.

Terroir

TUPUNGATO

Located in the northernmost section of Uco Valley, with warmer temperatures than the rest of the valley, which allows vines to be planted at higher altitudes.  Indeed, the highest-altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley are located in Gualtallary, the area featuring broadest temperature range. The soil is mostly sandy, with medium to large rocks and a high content of limestone. Here, our reds develop greater depth on the palate, sweet and round tannins, intense color and polyphenolic structure, becoming outstanding candidates for aging.
